Day 13 of #ridingeverydayinNovember

The rain of yesterday gave way to a dry day today.  I went back to the Fanno Creek Trail. Today was going to be a wildlife day.  The first stop was to cheer on the beavers as they continue their work on their water control project' I could see their handiwork, but did not see any beavers.

The mallard ducks were having just a ducky day paddling around in the sunshine.

With only a slight amount of rain, the high water is most likely caused be the successful completion of a dam by the resident beavers raising water levels. This had been dry two days ago. No matter the cause, the water flooded over the trail, forcing a detour.

I pedaled along finally reaching Garden Home, and my turn around point.  On the way back I came across  a Nutria grazing on the trailside grasss. They are considered pest animals for the damage they cause.

The days are still getting shorter. (sunrise 7:08 AM, sunset 4.45 PM today) and the sun was getting very near the horizon by the time I was wrapping the ride up.

I took a couple of alternate routes on the way back, just to mix things up a bit.

It was a good day to be out on a bike!
