Day 11 of #ridingeverydayinNovember

Today was day 11 of #ridingeverydayinNovember, a little event placed on Facebook to challenge folks to ride bike every day in November, regardless of weather, busy schedules, or just plain laziness.  It is amazing how little peer pressure it takes to get one out in nasty weather.  Today would not be bad weather in the south Puget Sound area, though it did start out a bit foggy and cool, at 26F.  It was in the low forties as I pedaled out at 2PM.  I wanted to start where I started yesterday's ride, but head northward on the Interurban Trail this time, but my riding buddy nixed that plan.  Instead we headed south, in hopes of finding what the Sumner Link trail linked to.

"The Mountain" was out

We pedaled along and just a short distance beyond where I turned around yesterday, we came to the end of the Sumner Link.  Signage was minimal at best.  We followed the signs to the White River Trail, but lost our way in some road construction.  No big deal, we knew the way back, just take a left at the bird!

We took an alternate way after we crossed the White River the second time, and returned to the derelict golf course.  A local radio controlled model airplane club has an arrangement with the city and uses part of the area for flying their planes.

Not a crash, just a secure parking job.

A 60 cc engine has plenty of power to put this 8 ft wingspan plane through its paces.

The pilot was a little on the quiet side.

It seemed like a good day to be out flying, no matter your mode.

The sun was getting low in the sky so it was time to bring it on home.  As we got back to my pickup, I noted that the guy riding the 0.8 mile loop around the buildings on a recumbent bicycle.  I too made a lap of the buildings.  I wonder how many hours he does this? What would be the chance that he would just happen to be here at the same time I was?  I wonder if he is  #ridingeverydayinNovember?

The map of my ride will be just slightly more complicated than his loops.

My paltry November mileage now accounts for just over 50% of my yearly mileage.
