(a normally calm Puget Sound whipped to a frenzy by wind)
I made it out to Lincoln Park mostly on bike paths, then circled back to Queen Anne, a bit more on roadways. Seattle has a lot of concrete roads. The expansion joints in them are sometimes dangerous for skinny bike tires to cross, made even more so when they are wet. The puddles of water everywhere making it difficult to see surface irregularities made it even more challenging.
I did make it back to Queen Anne with no more trouble than an occasional wheel spin when going up some of the steeper grades.
As luck would have it, after several hours of non-stop rain, the clouds broke and patches of sunshine popped out as I was getting out of my bike gear.
As odd as it might seem, it was a fun and adventuresome day to be on a bike!
