An Alki Run

It has been a few wet and blustery days, well over 2" of rain yesterday.  This morning was remarkably nice.  I decided I should be on the bike.  I was tempted to ride the carbon  bike, but decided that with all the rain yesterday there might very well be some puddles around.   I did wear my goretex jacket, more for warmth than anything else. 

I took the rain bike and headed toward Alki Point. I made my way down Queen Anne and rode along the canal and over the bridge to West Seattle. Today was about 50% blue sky as I started, but by the time I rode the 15 miles to Alki it was almost completely clouded over.  I didn't bring my camera, but did find this photo of the Alki Lighthouse that someone took on a sunny day.

I took in the view for just a few minutes, then began my way back.  By the time I was half way back it began to rain.  I climbed back up Queen Anne via the south side and closed the ride off.  I managed to get back without getting wet or cold.  It would have been nice to get a few more miles, but 27 is better than nothing.
