............and for a run as well.
Today I biked along as photographer and moral support for a few participants in Seattle Marathon.
As I rode down to the start it felt almost like deja vu. Yesterday I was like a salmon swimming upstream in a river of runners (Seattle 5k). Today I was like a salmon fry swimming downstream as I pedaled to join up with my friends.
As I made my way up through the masses it was not difficult to pick out my friends.
They may not be the fastest marathoners, but they may very well have the most fun!
The day was a bit cool with some light overcast. Perfect for running but a bit chilly for riding slow.
My friends may not have been the fastest participants today, but they weren't the slowest. (How would you like to be that guy just behind them as they crossed the timing strip?)
As an added bonus, at the finish festival I met RAAM veteran (and record holder) Cheryl Marek.
It was a fun pedal, surely my slowest average speed at 4.9mph.
My mileage varied from theirs because bikes weren't allowed on the full course.
