Deja Vu

The Seattle forecast today was for rain beginning by afternoon, with hard rain and wind on tap for the weekend.  Yuk, just knew it was going to happen before I would get off my duff and ride my 10,000th mile this year.  Oh well, it's not so bad once you get your head around setting foot out the door.

I figured I might be able to get some miles in this morning before the weather turned.  I took a look at my list of recent routes and decided to re-ride the recent trip to Edmonds.

Today I rode it solo.

Once again it was a case of racing the rain. 

There was a bit of fog this morning, but by the time I got out the door it was beginning to clear. The chill in the air reminded me that it is no longer summer. I put my goretex jacket on, not for protection from rain, but rather from windchill.  I pedaled hard enough to generate a little warmth and just kept up a nice effort.

I didn't take the time for a social lunch, riding solo there wasn't much social to be had, and I figured if I just kept riding I'd have a better chance of beating the rain and staying dry.

Yes, today was another case of racing the rain, and today I won that race!
