It's beginning to look a lot like.......

I put together a ride with dinner and gift exchange for my social bike club tonight. The impetus for this was that Portland International Raceway, which has an extensive drive through holiday lighting display, is open for "bikes only" on 1 night. Tonight was that night.



I started off by hanging a few lights on my bike, just to be festive.


25 of us decided that this was just the thing to do on a Monday night. The weather was dry and cool. Just right to get us in the Christmas spirit.



Having finished with the obligatory pre-ride photo we pedaled out on our very short commute to PIR.



We soon arrived, and after paying our admission, began our sight seeing tour.




Dave's bike gave some of the displays a run for their money. ;-)



Some rode 1 lap, some of us rode 2 laps. We soon all gathered back at The Burrito House
where we held our White Elephant gift exchange and had food and drink.





The social bike club has over a thousand members and they vary widely in their cycling ability but one thing is pretty consistant.... they know how to have fun!

I scored a big box of candy canes in the gift exchange. :-)

The "long" commute to PIR, two laps around the buttery smooth track, and the commute back to The Burrito House netted me a huge 8 miles.
