dark and darker

But dry!

I started at 5:15PM tonight, well after dark, to take advantage of a dry evening and ride Portland's 40 mile loop (well, sort of)



It was a good route for a night ride. I rode the first 6 miles in a bike lane separated from the vehicle travel lanes by a painted stripe, but the street was well lit and sightlines were good. From then on it was on dedicated paths. There was a short section on Marine Drive, but no issues.

The I-205 bike path and the Esplanade are well lit, but the Springwater Trail in particular is quite dark. I had my bright light along and used it.

It was a good night for a ride, crisp but dry.

Going to do it again tomorrow with some friends from the social bike club.
Gotta take advantage of the dry December weather! :-)
