Day 16 of #ridingeverydayinNovember

I'm in Seattle for a few days and today decided that I'd ride out to the Ballard Locks, aka Hiram Chittenden Locks.  I started from Gasworks Park, making for a relatively flat ride, avoiding the climb back up Queen Ann on the fixed gear.

I was feeling a bit wimpy today, and stopped along the ship canal for a break, as much as to take a photo.

When I got to the locks I checked email on my phone and found that a friend needed some bathroom plumbing repair.  Suddenly my laid back ride picked up a bit more urgency.  I pedaled out to Home Depot and picked up the needed supplies then rode back to Gasworks Park to take off my biker duds and put on my plumber duds. I managed to get a short ride in, make a neighbor happy, and still make it to my evening plans.  Oh, and I didn't get rained on!  That looks like a win in my book.
