A little preride

I'll be leading a ride from Seattle to Vancouver BC this weekend and decided to preride the first section just to become more familiar with it.

I started from Queen Anne.

I rode down to Ballard where the ride will officially begin then backtracked through Fremont via the Burke-Gilman Trail.  I'd ride the BG all the way to it's northern end.

The sky was mostly clear, the temperature was comfortable, and there was a slight tail wind.

I reached the end of the Burke-Gilman Trail then turned onto the Sammamish River Trail.
At Woodinville I left the trail and began the 2 mile/500 ft climb to Maltby.  I turned around just a few miles past Maltby after talking to a road construction flagger.  I wanted to make sure that the work zone was passable by bikes.  It is.

After today's preride, I changed one short section of route, to avoid a busy urban street with a lot of turning traffic and no shoulder.  We'll be taking a parallel residential street.  It has a little more climbing and a little bit steeper grade, but that's just fine.
