It is Tuesday, time for the Rocky Butte hill repeats ride. Rocky Butte is a hill, not a mountain by most people's estimation. I rode my mountain bike tonight, calling it a mountain bike is laughable by my friends who ride in the dirt. And one last thing, only two of us tonight, and the other rider left a bit early.
Kinda a hill, sorta a mountain bike, and hardly a group!
But it was a good night for a ride and I got 6 repeats on the heavy mtn bike. The temperature was in the upper 60's. I wore a long sleeved dry weave shirt, gym shorts, and tennis shoes (despite the fact that my mtn bike has pedals that have SPD clips on one side, flat pedal on the other) I figured if I was going to ride a mtn bike with slicks up and down Rocky Butte I just as well dress the part!
I commuted in from Oaks Park tonight, giving me an additional 20 miles. When I got back to Oaks Park I had 39 miles, and still nice dry and warm weather. I turned back around rode back out the Springwater Trail for a nice little 5.5 mile out and back, just because in the not too distant future I'll be wishing for weather like this to ride in.
