Before we had covered a mile I saw 19-20! Our leader, Jan, just smiled. She said she'd go slower if the group couldn't keep up, but we all did pretty well.
Though female, it appeared that Jan had a case of testosterone poisoning. The faster group had started out a few minutes before our group did, and she really wanted to catch them. ;-)
The Crimson Clover is nearing full bloom and was putting on quite a show.
St Francis Catholic Church in nice enough to leave some restrooms unlocked, and the group took the opportunity to stop.
It was a fun ride. It was 80 degrees with only very light breezes, and with less than 2 miles to go, we did indeed catch the faster group!

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics." Mark Twain, who claims he heard it from Disraeli. As the leader of the "fast" group, I started off a few MPH above my originally stated pace. After getting feedback from some of the riders, I eased off back to 16-17 (well, maybe 18). It's no wonder you caught us. I must need some of those testosterone supplements I keep seeing advertised.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, there always seems to be some "play" in posted paces. What's a few MPH among friends!
