Thursday Night, and a new month

Well, August ended up as a very low mileage month for me.  There was a lot of bike activity, just not much pedaling for me.

Today is September 1st, and I at least got on the bike.  It is Thursday and time for the Thursday Night Ride.  Tonight's theme as Alice in Wonderland.  We were all issued oversized spoke cards.

As we pedaled out a light rain began. It would continue for the duration of our ride.

 The Mad Hatter and Alice were in attendance.

 It was only fitting that at the post ride bonfire that a tea party ensued.

TNR's founder and usual ride leader, Nathan, was off cycling the world so volunteers have stepped up to fill the void.  It has led to some interesting routes, and examples on how leading large group rides is not as easy as one might think. We did however make it safely around tonight.

As the ride ended, right on cue, the rain stopped.

I pedaled back to Sellwood and called it a night.
