My last ride of the year in Oregon

I leave later tonight for a few days (and about 550 miles!) of riding. The fabled sunny Southern California weather will have to go a ways to beat what we had today in Portland!

3 of us from my social bike group rode a 43 mile loop mostly on bike paths today. Beth led us on a ride north on the 205 Bike Route to the Marine Drive path, then out past Smith and Bybee Lakes and North Portland. (here my two partners are at "The Bluff" near U of P overlooking the Willamette River)

We made our way southward where we joined the East Bank Esplanade.

After a foggy and cold start it cleared up and turned out to be a beautiful day.




The forecast for San Diego shows a 30% chance of rain on Sunday. San Diegan's idea of rain is slightly different than that of native Oregonians, but I expect to at least see cloudy skies while there.

I'll keep the pedals spinning and my fingers crossed!
