Thursday again

 I started off with a ride to town for  some supplies for this weekend's camping/biking  trip. When the evening rolled around it was time to once again join folks on the weekly Thursday Night Ride.  I drove to Sellwood, then rode the rest of the way in.  The ride starts from Salmon Street Springs.

 The weather was perfect and the turnout was good. Well over 100 people tonight.

 We were all having fun.

Within  an hour the sun had set.

It's amazing what  a new handlebar tape job will do.  There are a lot of very nice bikes at this ride.  Not  as in carbon wonderbikes, but as in fixies, tall  bikes, stretch bikes, and fat tired bikes. Normally my fixie doesn't garner a second glance .  Tonight 3 different people commented on the "nice bike".  My handlebar tape was getting a bit ragged so I retaped it mid week.  Nothing like nice new red tape to gather attention!

We ended up on the banks of the Willamette River.  Did I mention that it was a perfect evening?

I didn't hang around long.  I've got some last minute preparations  to attend to before taking off for Crater Lake tomorrow morning.  I  bid the gang farewell and pedaled back  along the  Eastbank Esplanade and  Springwater Corridor to Sellwood where I had parked earlier in the evening.

It was a nice evening for  a  ride.
