It has been 13 weeks since my arm was broken. The doctor told me to start using it. Maybe he didn't mean plant rhubarb?
Today I rode to the hardware store to get a tool I needed to install a water pump. It was only 4 miles, but it was plenty.

Ugh!
I brought my fixed gear bike up to the Puget Sound region in anticipation of a 20 mile ride sponsored by the Cascade Bicycle Club. The ride was to start in Auburn today at 11AM. There was a splattering of snowflakes beginning at 7AM. Cascade rides are notorious for cancelling if there is rain, or any other inclement conditions. At 9AM, the ride was still "on" so we loaded bikes and took off for Auburn............. only to arrive 45 minutes later and find that the ride was cancelled. :-(
It was snowing pretty hard, so it did not surprise me that the ride was cancelled, but I just wish they had officially cancelled it before we made the drive.
Having been all prepared for 20 mile ride in rain/snow, we hauled the bikes back up to Tapps Island, about 550 feet higher in elevation. It was definitely snowing there. We managed to get 3.4 miles before it started getting slippery. Oh well.
